With attribution to John Middendorf’s original A5 portaledge design, this system follows the classic geometry and modular construction that defined modern wall ledges — built using interchangeable and individually serviceable components.

• Expedition or lightweight storm fly (zippered)

• Ledge bed fabric

• Dyneema webbing harness

• Ultra haul bag

Base system weight: 15 lb
(ledge, fly, haul bag, tent pole with single full-length zipper)

Ongoing Development

We are currently developing next-generation components including:

• Ultra 200X ledge bed

• Dyneema harness system

• UL Dyneema / Ultra storm fly

These updates aim to reduce total system weight to unprecedented levels for a full aluminum-frame portaledge.
